About me?

My name is
Oscar Laliberte Else.

My career as a chef was years of practicing User-Centered design; I spent my life figuring out how I could create the most comfortable, intuitive and pain-free experience for each of our guests.

It’s something I love doing and is one of the things that led me to UX design.

I’m currently working as a freelance UX Designer, including contract work with Agora Connections. My primary focus is on eComm sites, optimizing checkout processes, improving IA, ensuring WCAG compliance and creating compelling product pages. I also do personal brand development, for creatives looking to showcase their work.

My next career goal is a full-time, in-house UX/Product design position; More than flying solo, I love to collaborate with other problem solvers and creative thinkers. If you have an opportunity for me, I’d love to hear about it!

My years in film and motion graphics design have given me a huge toolbox of technical skills, a keen eye for detail and a strong sense for aesthetics. My knack for strategy and always finding the pragmatic solution comes from years in high-pressure kitchens; My aptitude for empathetic design comes from a love of creating for others.

Long story short: I’m great at cooking seafood, design thinking and finding the right path to move a project forward.

Some other stuff:

I completed Springboard’s UX/UI Design Certification in 2024 and hold a diploma in Culinary Arts and Management from George Brown College.

When I'm not doing design work, I make stuff and I enjoy the outdoors. I fly-fish (badly), play chess online (also badly) and I still love to cook (I'm pretty darn good at that one).

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me! Please be in touch, I’d love to chat.

Ask me about: Why hammock camping is superior, advice on your home renovation or which series of detective novel I'm currently reading.

And for fun, here’s some food I’ve cooked:
